Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, the Category Manager for Packaging & Ingredients will be accountable for the development and execution of category strategies to optimize value and create a competitive advantage. They will manage and develop two Purchasing Analysts to provide support for daily tactical activities, sourcing events, and spend analytics. The Category Manager will work towards continuous supplier improvement and effectively manage relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for the end-to-end management of packaging and ingredients, including developing and executing category strategies, sourcing plans, spend analytics, market research, and procurement best practices

Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive value creation and determine business requirements; keep them informed of key procurement initiatives and savings opportunities

Provide commodity and industry knowledge to relevant stakeholders on key market drivers and suppliers

Lead spend analytics to identify and deliver savings opportunities, optimize total cost of ownership, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste

Lead tactical support analysts in execution of sourcing events (RFPs, negotiations and pricing agreements) to ensure alignment with category strategy

Lead category council cross functional teams in development of category profiles, sourcing strategies, and category performance objectives

Own supplier relationship management, performance, and risk assessments with key strategic suppliers to drive value-add, process improvement, and innovation opportunities

Manage vendor contracts and spend compliance

Support Corporate, Plant, and Global purchasing teams with key strategies and initiatives

Skills and Competencies Required:

Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain/Business Mgmt/Logistics/Economics/Finance/Engineering; MBA is a plus

Proven track record in Purchasing or related field (Supply Chain) with 5+ years strategic procurement experience

Industry experience and category knowledge is desirable

Excellent analytical, problem solving, strategic and critical thinking skills

Demonstrated ability to lead projects, direct reports, and cross-functional teams

Strong communication and stakeholder mgmt skills with emphasis on customer satisfaction and value creation

Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with contract management and risk management

Effective written and oral communication / presentation skills

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
